⇨ Title: Centre of Excellence in Production Informatics and Control (EPIC CoE)
⇨ Customer: Directorate General Research, Technology and Development of European Commission
The Centre of Excellence in Production Informatics and Control (EPIC CoE) was established with the objective to be a leading, internationally acknowledged and sustainable focus point in its field, representing excellence in research, development and innovation related to Cyber-Physical Production (CPP). The big challenges of the new technological era when information and communication technologies are fundamentally transforming and revolutionizing production will be responded by concentrating the multidisciplinary, partly overlapping, partly complementary competences of CoE partners from Hungary, Germany and Austria. Fraunhofer IPK is responsible to define and develop the CoE staff as well as to establish a sustainable HR Concept that supports the employees in their development.
According to the structural governance and management model, necessary functions and roles to operate the CoE were defined (e.g. director, deputy directors, administrative assistant, special projects coordinators, etc.). In this context job descriptions and skill profiles with the underlying competencies for the respective functions were elaborated. Based on these results, the human resources strategy for the EPIC was derived. Essential activities of HR development within the EPIC CoE were e identified to achieve a profound comprehension of the current and future development needs. The HR concept created transparency on required competences and provides the detailed planning status of the human resources.
